This tea bowl has a rough white skin, but the real one is very smooth.
I don't know anyone who can make such skin with modern Bizen ware.

He was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1976.
He graduated from Bizen Pottery Center in 1996.
After that, he started as a ceramic artist while doing research on old ceramics.

Yu Fujiwara had a handicap in his sight but therefore produced a daring style.
This teabowl has a very strong presence in your hands.
But it's tuned just fine without being too heavy.
Three "botamochi" which are particular about Yu Fujiwara are also beautiful.
The three red parts "Botamochi" on the front, inside, and back are wonderful.
You can enjoy "Botamochi" both when you drink tea and when you look at the bowl after finishing.

He was accredited as a living human national treasure in 1996.
(The first time in ceramics industry that parents and children are accredited.)
He died in 2001.
