Koichiro Isezaki - Hikidashiguro Guinomi

Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses kiln in a tunnel-like shape called "anagama".
This Guinomi was fired in September 2024.
Hikidashi means taking out the work from Kiln during firing.
The works that touched the outside air will be cooled rapidly and will change to a different color from normal Bizen ware.
In this work, the attached ash (pine) becomes transparent and looks like a amber.
The black part is coated with special clay and is indigo by Hikidashi effect.
The simple design does not prevent you from observing the indigo beauty of this Guinomi.
In the past, Bizen ware had never been used to express the universe or the sky.

Natural glaze adheres to the wrapped rice straw, forming a thunder-like shape.

He named the pattern “Sou Enn” (blue flame).
