Moriyasu Masamune - Bizen Guinomi

11,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.9cm×7.8cm×H4.8cm

This Guinomi was fired during the final years of Moriyasu Masamune's life.
As a master deeply versed in classical ceramics—especially Old Bizen—this piece reflects his unique ability to interpret and incorporate traditional aesthetics into contemporary work.
It features a slightly low-profile, tea bowl–inspired form, a design often seen in his Guinomi.
The piece combines the powerful, fluid energy of his wheel work with practical ease of use and handling.
Faint traces of liquid clay application (nuritsuchi) can be seen on the body and interior of the piece, beautifully recreating the subdued clay character reminiscent of Old Bizen ware.
The firing has also produced distinctive speckled Kase-Goma, which add a pleasing contrast to the cool, muted texture of the clay.

Sohei Takashima - Bizen Hiiro Guinomi

14,300 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.7cm×6.5cm×H5.3cm

He is a disciple of Jun Isezaki.
This is his newest work, published at the end of 2024.
Although the title is unusual in using "Hi-iro" instead of "Hidasuki,"
this ambitious Guinomi was fired using both wood and kerosene kilns to achieve a rich and subdued red tone.
The core of the piece’s color lies in the final firing in a carefully temperature-controlled kerosene kiln,
perfected through extensive research to produce a soft luster and a deep, refined hue.
Within the vivid reddish clay surface, an even deeper layer of hidden Hidasuki patterns emerges,
making this Guinomi a piece to savor slowly while appreciating how its character matures over time.

Yuho Kaneshige - Imbe Hidasuki Guinomi

22,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.0cm×6.4cm×H5.9cm

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited Imbe's house and kiln from his father.
He was presenting traditional Kaneshige style works.
This works was made by him a few years ago.
This Guinomi was made in 2004.
Hidasuki, which he fired in an electric kiln given to him by Sozan Kaneshige, is very beautiful.
Guinomi is originally a simple work, but it is designed like a tea ceremony pottery by Yuho's technique.

Rokuro Nakamura - Bizen Guinomi

385,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.2cm×7.1cm×H5.5cm

This is Guinomi made by Rokuro Nakamura who is called a master of sake ware.
The red clay color on the front part makes it even more beautiful when you use it by getting wet with sake.
I presume that this Guinomi was fired when he was about 80 years old.
The orange clay color produces a golden effect and is very beautiful.
The beautiful Yohen created in the fierce fire created during the firing of the kiln is wonderful.

Tomoyuki Oiwa - Kuro Guinomi

22,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.4cm×7.1cm×H6.7cm

He is a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki.
He learned about Kakurezaki's innovative design and firing methods of Anagama.
This Guinomi was fired in April 2024.
He makes works with normal Bizen clay, and paints black clay after drying.
"Kuro" is made of clay with a high iron content in the Osafune district of Okayama prefecture.
Add a small amount of cobalt after dissolving them in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work changes to beautiful black when fired.
And this Guinomi has a very special fire pattern.
The bright, transparent light blue fire pattern is a unique color.
As moisture seeps into the blue fire pattern, it changes to a more beautiful hue.

Jun Isezaki - Bizen Kuro Guinomi

This new work was fired in October 2024.
In the part where Goma overlaps and burns, it changes to a beautiful blue color due to the effect of cobalt.

Makoto Kaneshige - Bizen Guinomi

38,500 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.7cm×6.6cm×H6.1cm

He inherits the skills of his father, Sozan Kanesige.
I feel Sozan Kanesige's powerful and intense design from his work.
And since they have valued clay for generations, they have great clay.
This Guinomi was fired in 2011.
His "Maruyagama" features a beautiful blue Kase Goma.
When you are done using it, he said, paint the red clay-colored area with Sake and let Guinomi himself have a drink.

Michiaki Kaneshige - Imbe Guinomi

385,000 YEN

size : W7.0cm×6.8cm×H5.4cm

Michiaki Kaneshige is the eldest son of Toyo Kanesige.
He creates traditional Bizen ware and innovative sculptures while following the teachings of his father, Toyo Kaneshige.
I assume from the box and style that this Guinomi was produced towards the end of his career.
Yohen has a black fire pattern and the red color of the clay are basically inversely related.
However, in this Guinomi, the coloring has been fixed at the perfect time.
It is a gem that could be called the ultimate Yohen.
When you pour liquor, the clay color gets wet and becomes a more wonderful color that intoxicates you.

Sohei Takashima - Hikidashi Guinomi

14,300 YEN
Sold out

size : W5.2cm×5.2cm×H5.2cm

He is a disciple of Jun Isezaki.
He completed this work using the hikidashi technique he learned from Jun Isezaki.
Hikidashi means taking out the work from Kiln during firing.
The works that touched the outside air will be cooled rapidly and will change to a different color from normal Bizen ware.
The surface texture of this Guinomi also became highly glossy as if it were wet due to rapid cooling.

Yuho Kaneshige - Ekaratsu Guinomi

33,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.5cm×6.4cm×H4.9cm

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited Inbe's house and kiln from his father.
He was presenting traditional Kaneshige style works.
But around 2018 he started a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln that he inherited from his father and made a more primitive kiln.
This Guinomi was burned around 2001.
This piece is made using clay that Kaneshige Yuhō personally excavated in the Karatsu region.
It beautifully combines his meticulous craftsmanship with the rustic charm of Karatsu ware.
The coarse clay—an essential characteristic of true Karatsu—gives the piece a bold presence, with the foot showing elegant chirimen-jimo (crepe-like wrinkles) for a refined, subdued finish.
The glaze is a simple combination of ash glaze and iron decoration, but he uses carefully selected natural materials.
Compact and elegant in form, this is a fine piece best enjoyed alongside a Bizen tokkuri.
