Yoshiteru Takariki - Bizen Nuritsuchi Hidasuki Chawan
22,000 YENSold out
size : W12.0cm×11.8cm×H8.6cmHe inherits the skills and spirit of Sozan Kaneshige.
The simple and undecorated design highlights the beauty of Bizen clay.
He believes that the work will be completed in the hands of the user.
He had been following his teacher's method of firing hidasuki until now.
He then developed a polka-dot patterned scarlet tasuki using blocks with holes in them.
He further developed this clay-coated hidasuki as his next approach.
This technique is found in old time Bizen ware, but he has modified it for firing in an electric kiln.
Yuho Kaneshige - Imbe Shiro Chawan
385,000 YENSold out
size : W11.7cm×11.5cm×H8.7cmHe has been creating unique pieces in primitive kilns in recent years.
He has also produced a work titled "Shiro.
However, this "Shiro" was not fired in a primitive kiln, but in an electric kiln.
It was fired at a high temperature and has slight Hidasuki adhering to it.
It is very hard, but the surface is smooth and almost worn.
The design is also interesting as it has repeatedly shrunk and expanded on the potter's wheel.
One feels that the work is not made of a single piece of board, but is put together like a three-dimensional puzzle.

This piece was fired by him around 2010.
The cylindrical design and low koudai give it the feel of Setoguro work.
Naoki Yokoyama - Bizen Shizen Nerikomi Chawan
11,000 YENSold out
size : W13.5cm×13.5cm×H8.3cmHe is a disciple of Fumio Kawabata.
Their work is famous for a technique called natural marble 'sizen nerikomi'.
They mould the various components in the clay into a work without mixing them together.
The different components are then directly transformed into a marbled pattern on the surface.
The designs are very strong and show that he had studied old Bizen ware.

He made a large kiln in 1970, this Chawan was fired in Noborigama kiln.
He placed this Chawan on top of another piece, and then placed another piece on top of this Chawan and fired it.
Goma and Hidasuki are difficult to generate beautiful colors at the same time, but he has succeeded with this Chawan.
The beautiful clay color is reminiscent of Toyo Kaneshige.

77,000 YENSold out
size : W12.7cm×12.3cm×H9.8cmHe is a disciple of Jun Isezaki.

Hikidashi means taking out the work from Kiln during firing.
The works that touched the outside air will be cooled rapidly and will change to a different color from normal Bizen ware.
In this work, the attached ash (pine) becomes transparent and looks like a amber.
The black part is coated with special clay and is indigo by Hikidashi effect.
The simple design does not prevent you from observing the indigo beauty of this Chawan.

385,000 YENSold out

But around 2018 he started a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln that he inherited from his father and made a more primitive kiln.
This Chawan is a work that was fired in its primitive kiln.
He often uses that kiln to produce symmetrical Chawan without natural glaze adhesion in recent years.
This Chawan was fired in November 2022.
The title of this work, SHIRO, means white.
The snowy color combined with the extremely fine skin makes it look as if Chawan were made of powdered snow.
