His unique design is a modern take on the Houhin, which was popular in the Showa era.
He fired this piece in Fumio Kawabata's kiln, which is now in Bizen City.



Yuho Kaneshige - Imbe SHIRO Chawan

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited Imbe's house and kiln from his father.
He was presenting traditional Kaneshige style works.
But around 2018 he started a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln that he inherited from his father and made a more primitive kiln.
This Chawan is a work that was fired in its primitive kiln.
He often uses that kiln to produce symmetrical Chawan without natural glaze adhesion in recent years.
This Chawan was fired in November 2022.
The title of this work, SHIRO, means white.
The snowy color combined with the extremely fine skin makes it look as if Chawan were made of powdered snow.



Yuichi Yamamoto - Bizen Chaire

Yuichi Yamamoto is the eldest son of Toshu Yamamoto and a leader of the Yamamoto clan.
The Yamamoto clan is good at modeling without distortion by rokuro.
This Chaire was fired by him around 2005.
His father, Toushou Yamamoto, was best known for Chaire in his work.
The skills he inherited from his father have made his chaire designs wonderful.
This design is called "Shiri Bari Chaire" and is characterized by the bulging shape of the lower part.



Koichiro Isezaki - Shiro Chawan

Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses kiln in a tunnel-like shape called "anagama".
This Chawan was fired in August 2022.
This work is made using special white clay collected in the Inve area.
He fired without glaze, but the white clay component produced a fire pattern with a color different from the original Bizen ware.
The outer surface has a luster as if coated with glass.
Originally yellow or brown Goma, which is close to gold, it changed to muddy white or transparent blue.

This Chawan was made by Ken Fujiwara before 1970.
He made a large kiln in 1970, this Chawan was fired in Noborigama kiln.
He placed this Chawan on top of another piece, and then placed another piece on top of this Chawan and fired it.
Goma and Hidasuki are difficult to generate beautiful colors at the same time, but he has succeeded with this Chawan.
The beautiful clay color is reminiscent of Toyo Kaneshige.

This Chawan is made from fine clay with low iron content.
This Chawan is based on a white clay color and has changed to amber or scarlet due to the effect of fire.

This is a Wan nari style chawan with relaxed curves.
However, the Koudai part is very speedy and powerful cutting can be seen.
Gentle curves and powerful cutting are inextricably linked, creating a stature to this Chawan.
This Chawan comes with a certificate of authenticity from his third son, Kousuke Kaneshige.

This Mizusashi was fired by him around 2004.
He firing with a straight hole-shaped kiln called "Anagama".
The flame of Anagama kiln blows into the back of kiln at a stretch.
This is Mizusashi of "Youhen" that can be fired only in a specific place in Anagama kiln.
This Mizusashi has an excellent fire pattern due to its very high heat value.
The Anagama Youhen is usually charcoal gray, but this Mizusashi is a beautiful black.
