Masao Akiya - Bizen Mug

He also uses hole type klin called "Anagama".
This mug is made of clay with a little sand content.
He fired this mug without direct exposure to the flame in his kiln.
The slightly adhered natural glaze looks golden due to a synergistic effect with the small sand particles in the clay.

Add a small amount of cobalt after dissolving them in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work changes to beautiful black when fired.

This is Yunomi made by Rokuro Nakamura who is called a master of sake ware.
I would guess that this Yunomi is from his later years.
