Hidasuki, which he fired in an electric kiln given to him by Sozan Kaneshige, is very beautiful.

size : W7.2cm×7.1cm×H5.5cmThis is Guinomi made by Rokuro Nakamura who is called a master of sake ware.
The red clay color on the front part makes it even more beautiful when you use it by getting wet with sake.
I presume that this Guinomi was fired when he was about 80 years old.
The orange clay color produces a golden effect and is very beautiful.
The beautiful Yohen created in the fierce fire created during the firing of the kiln is wonderful.

He learned about Kakurezaki's innovative design and firing methods of Anagama.
This Guinomi was fired in April 2024.
He makes works with normal Bizen clay, and paints black clay after drying.
"Kuro" is made of clay with a high iron content in the Osafune district of Okayama prefecture.
Add a small amount of cobalt after dissolving them in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work changes to beautiful black when fired.
And this Guinomi has a very special fire pattern.
The bright, transparent light blue fire pattern is a unique color.
As moisture seeps into the blue fire pattern, it changes to a more beautiful hue.

I assume from the box and style that this Guinomi was produced towards the end of his career.
Yohen has a black fire pattern and the red color of the clay are basically inversely related.
However, in this Guinomi, the coloring has been fixed at the perfect time.
It is a gem that could be called the ultimate Yohen.
When you pour liquor, the clay color gets wet and becomes a more wonderful color that intoxicates you.

The surface texture of this Guinomi also became highly glossy as if it were wet due to rapid cooling.

This Guinomi was burned around 2001.
This piece is made using clay that Kaneshige Yuhō personally excavated in the Karatsu region.
It beautifully combines his meticulous craftsmanship with the rustic charm of Karatsu ware.
The coarse clay—an essential characteristic of true Karatsu—gives the piece a bold presence, with the foot showing elegant chirimen-jimo (crepe-like wrinkles) for a refined, subdued finish.
The glaze is a simple combination of ash glaze and iron decoration, but he uses carefully selected natural materials.
Compact and elegant in form, this is a fine piece best enjoyed alongside a Bizen tokkuri.

It features a refined gray matte surface achieved through deep reduction firing, overlaid with subdued reddish Hidasuki patterns.
In recent years, Sohei Takashima has also used a kerosene kiln for final firing, giving the surface a unique texture with a soft, unglossed finish reminiscent of Sue ware.
The piece is hand-built to enhance the soft atmosphere of the Hidasuki, and its quiet yet powerful presence is inspired by the aesthetics of Raku tea bowls.
