He learned about Jun Isezaki's innovative design and firing methods of Anagama.
This Guinomi was fired in December 2022.
He works mainly with Bizen Pottery in Ibaraki Prefecture.
However, he is studying not only Bizen ware but also various glazed ceramics.
He used straw ashes as a glaze for this Guinomi and named it "Hakudei".
Hakudei is a word meaning white mud.
The color is a bluish white, and some of the glaze has run off, like Madara-Karatsu.

He does not like excessive fire patterns with natural glaze.
He prefers fire patterns that occur in amounts that naturally adhere during the firing process of the piece.
This Tokkuri has a slight Yohen and Kasegoma, and a beautiful scarlet clay color.
These are Kanesige fire patterns that are now rarely seen in his works.

He creates traditional Bizen ware and innovative sculptures while following the teachings of his father, Toyo Kaneshige.
I assume from the box and style that this Guinomi was produced towards the end of his career.
This Guinomi has many fire patterns such as Goma, Sangiri, and red clay color.
Among them, the clay color is very wonderful.
Red, orange, purplish red, brown, etc. are rapidly changing to create a complex and wonderful clay color.
When you pour liquor, the clay color gets wet and becomes a more wonderful color that intoxicates you.

This Guinomi was made by him using a mixture of Bizen clay and clay from the Hiyama region where his kiln is located.
The mixed clay was then coated with a black glaze and fired in his kiln.
The yellow colour of the natural glaze overlaid on the black glaze gave it a mysterious colour.
This Guinomi was fired in December 2022.

This Tokkuri has a thick Kigoma that looks like a liquid natural glaze.

From the shoulders up, the clay is covered with a cup-like shape and fired, creating a change in the color of the clay.
