Yoshiteru Takariki - Bizen Yohen Guinomi

22,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.8cm×6.5cm×H6.4cm

He inherits the skills and spirit of Sozan Kaneshige.
The simple and undecorated design highlights the beauty of Bizen clay.
He believes that the work will be completed in the hands of the user.
This Guinomi was fired in May 2022.
This Guinomi is fired in a very strong Yohen place.
The entire Guinomi is covered with black charcoal Yohen.
However, the beautiful color of the clay remains in the middle circle, which makes me feel the vitality of the clay.

Kazuki Nakamura - Bizen Hidasuki Tokkuri

20,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W11.3cm×11.0cm×H10.2cm 350cc

Kazuki Nakamura is the grandson of Rokuro Nakamura.
He faithfully reproduces the style of Rokuro Nakamura.
He is also good at making sake wares, just like Rokuro Nakamura.
This work was fired in April 2022.
Hidasuki's Tokkuri fired in an electric kiln.
The rice straw wrapped diagonally around the piece transforms it into a dynamic pattern.
The large hollow in the center of the piece makes it easy to hold.

Sozan Kaneshige - Bizen Tokkuri

750,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W9.9cm×9.2cm×H12.4cm 340cc

I guess he did this work between the ages of 60 and 70.
In his later years, he moved to a quieter, more powerful style, but around age 60 to 70, his works are more decorative and dynamic in style.
There are three wonderful things about this work.
The first is about the fire pattern.
The rich gray Yohen, rocky Kigoma, and beautiful red clay colors are very nice.
The second is the intense spatula carving of the pattern.
Kanji characters for the moon and flowers are embedded on both sides, with a simplified hedge pattern separating them.
Finally, the two are fused together as one Tokkuri, and it is amazing that they do not interfere with each other and are properly completed as a single work of art.

Toru Ichikawa - Guinomi KABUKI

46,200 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.5cm×7.1cm×H7.0cm

Toru Ichikawa is a disciple of Ryuichi Kakurezaki.
He is keen to research glaze for ceramics.
He is constantly challenging new expressions with original and philosophical themes.
This time, however, he gave it a very simple title KABUKI.
The front of the work is covered with a bright red glaze that looks like blood.
I assume that the color scheme is based on the theme of bushido, like his early work "Hagakure".

Tomoyuki Oiwa - Kuro Tokkuri

He makes works with normal Bizen clay, and paints black clay after drying.
"Kuro" is made of clay with a high iron content in the Osafune district of Okayama prefecture.
Add a small amount of cobalt after dissolving them in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work changes to beautiful black when fired.
And this Guinomi has a very special fire pattern.
The bright, transparent light blue fire pattern is a unique color.
I wondered if this Tokkuri was due to the Hikidashi technique, but it's not.

Tosyu Yamamoto - Bizen Guinomi

120,000 YEN

size : W6.5cm×6.3cm×H5.1cm

Tosyu Yamamoto was called the master of the Rokuro.
He likes symmetrical neat modeling.
This is a late work in his career.
This Guinomi is a fire pattern called Kase-Yohen.
The fire pattern is a combination of kasegoma, a green natural glaze, and Haikaburi-Yohen, which occurs near burned charcoal.
The red clay color inside will look more beautiful with the moisture of the Sake when used.
The skin looks like it has a slight golden effect on it.

Takashi Soga researches old Bizen were and uses it as a hint for his work creation.
He does not use any kiln tools made with modern chemistry.
He wants to recreate the environment where the old Bizen ware was made in his atelier.
His work, made in a unique environment, is very similar to old Bizen ware.
Due to his special Kiln influences, many of the works have a bright red clay color.
This work has a very beautiful red clay color and he has certified it as a special Guinomi.

Masahiro Miyao - Kuro Guinomi

15,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.5cm×6.3cm×H6.3cm

He presents his work in two ways: traditional Bizen ware style and black style.
This Guinomi is made in black style.
This Guinomi was fired by him in March 2022.
It is a technique to apply mud containing a small amount of cobalt, which has been popular since 2000.
Black-style pieces have a beautiful black clay color that is roughly glossy and a bright cobalt blue fire pattern.
However, in this Guinomi, the black is almost completely transformed into indigo, which is very strange.
The black color is still present in the base, and in the areas where the clay is thin, a beautiful black color can be seen.

Shuroku Harada - Bizen Wara Guinomi

65,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.9cm×6.4cm×H7.7cm

He hasn't fired kiln in recent years.
This Guinomi is his last work.
Wara is rice straw.
In Japan, straw is sometimes tied and stood up in the rice paddies after the rice harvest is over.
This Guinomi is designed as a bundle of tied straw, reminiscent of that scene.
