It was fired in the kiln of Urizun no Mori in Kameoka, Kyoto.
Urizun no Mori is an Oomoto institution closely related to the Kanashige family.
He improved the kiln so that it could fire Yohen style.
The calm black-silver fire pattern is very austere and beautiful.
The molding is just like his father's, quiet but full of power.

"Kuro" is made of clay with a high iron content in the Osafune district of Okayama prefecture.
Add a small amount of cobalt after dissolving them in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work changes to beautiful black when fired.
And this Guinomi has a very special fire pattern.
The bright, transparent light blue fire pattern is a unique color.
I wondered if this Guinomi was due to the Hikidashi technique, but it's not.
Sozan Kaneshige - Chosen Karatsu Tokkuri

size : W8.7cm×8.6cm×H17.8cm 300ccThis is a Tokkuri made by Sozan Kaneshige in 1978 at Moritoshi Tokuzawa's place in Fukuoka Prefecture.
His eldest son, Makoto Kaneshige, had a piece that Moritoshi Tokuzawa fired and delivered to Sozan Kaneshige.
Sozan would make karatsu style pieces for the rest of his life, but the Chosen Karatsu style was the only time he made this piece.
The iron glaze had run down to the bottom, but I believe that Moritoshi Tokuzawa spent a long time polishing it because both the modeling and the glaze color were excellent.
The blue-white straw ash glaze flows down in the form of weeping willows.
To obtain this beautiful pattern, the heat must be neither too high nor too low.

This Tokkuri is a work of his later years.
He is very good at making fire patterns with refractory soil called Botamochi.
Half of the body of this Tokkuri is considered to be red clay color with refractory clay called botamochi pasted on it.
And it turns out that he was thinking of putting Botamochi on the back of Tokkuri to entertain those who used.

He was a student of ceramics researcher Katsura Matasaburo.
The knowledge gained is the basis of his pottery style.
He hasn't fired kiln in recent years.
Looking at the condition of the wooden box , I presume that it was made around 2005.
Good quality clay has changed to three colors.
He made the tubes of clay and stacked them.
You can almost hear his raucous breathing through the violent unevenness of Tokkuri's torso.
