"Sankaku" is a triangle,This Tokkuri has a gentle triangle body.
Sankaku Tokkuri is one of the representative forms of the Nakamura family inherited from Rokuro Nakamura.
The strong fire pattern and the bright scarlet color are beautiful.

He firing with a straight hole-shaped kiln called "Anagama".
The flame of Anagama kiln blows into the back of kiln at a stretch.
The fired works will have a brown or white gradation based on the bright red.
This Guinomi was fired in December 2021.
It is rare among his fired Guinomi to have such an intense fire pattern.
The natural glaze is very powerful, gathering and charring like black lava.

This Tokkuri fire pattern is similar to Yohen from Noborigama kiln.
However, it also has the characteristics of his original kiln.
The bare clay part that was not ashed is dull and has a complex color, just like an old Bizen.

Mitsuru Isezaki is one of the potters who inherited Bizen ware redeveloped by Toyo Kanesige.
His pottery style is simple and undecorated to show off the goodness of the clay.
This Tokkuri was sealed and fired in a box made of fireclay or inside another piece.
His skillful adjustment of the fire and the quality of the clay resulted in dark-colored hidasuki like old Bizen ware.
This Tokkuri is shaped on the potter's wheel, allowed to dry a bit, and then the excess clay is removed with a wooden spatula.
This process gave the surface a softer texture and transformed the body into one that you will want to keep forever.



Jun Isezaki - Bizen Kuro Guinomi

This new work was fired in 2021 December.
He makes works with normal Bizen clay, and paints black clay after drying.
"Kuro" is made of clay with a high iron content in the Osafune district of Okayama prefecture.
Add a small amount of cobalt after dissolving them in water to make it liquid.
The black clay applied to the work changes to beautiful black when fired.
In the part where Goma overlaps and burns, it changes to a beautiful blue color due to the effect of cobalt.

Koichiro Isezaki is Jun Isezaki's eldest son.
He uses kiln in a tunnel-like shape called "anagama".
This new work was fired in 2022 March.
The overlapping Goma that make you feel the flames blowing through are wonderful.
This Tokkuri was fired by laying the front part of the photo facing the floor and lifting it slightly off the floor with the kiln tools.
Many natural glazes gathered on the back of Tokkuri, and eventually they could not bear their own weight and flowed away.
Then, between the floor and this Tokkuri, it solidified like a crystal and cooled as it was, transforming into a jewel-like part.
