Makoto Kaneshige - Bizen Guinomi

77,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.0cm×6.8cm×H6.3cm

He inherits the skills of his father, Sozan Kanesige.
I feel Sozan Kanesige's powerful and intense design from his work.
And since they have valued clay for generations, they have great clay.
This Guinomi was fired in October 2021.
His "Maruyagama" features a beautiful blue Kase Goma.
When you are done using it, he said, paint the red clay-colored area with Sake and let Guinomi himself have a drink.

Kazuki Nakamura - Bizen Guinomi

10,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W8.3cm×8.1cm×H5.2cm

Kazuki Nakamura is the grandson of Rokuro Nakamura.
He faithfully reproduces the style of Rokuro Nakamura.
He is also good at making sake wares, just like Rokuro Nakamura.
This work was fired in April 2023.
This Guinomi expresses the red color beautifully by the Nakamura family's original fire method.
The strong fire pattern and the bright scarlet color are beautiful.
When drinking Sake, the bright scarlet color changes more beautifully with water.

Yu Fujiwara - Bizen Shuhai

90,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.7cm×6.5cm×H5.3cm

Yu Fujiwara had a handicap in his sight but therefore produced a daring style.
This Guinomi has a very strong presence in your hands.
But it's tuned just fine without being too heavy.
Three "botamochi" which are particular about Yu Fujiwara are also beautiful.
The three red parts "Botamochi" on the front, inside, and back are wonderful.
You can enjoy "Botamochi" both when you drink tea and when you look at the bowl after finishing.

This Guinomi was fired a little too hard, and Kasegoma occurred throughout the piece.

Kazuki Nakamura is the grandson of Rokuro Nakamura.

The rice straw wrapped diagonally around the piece transforms it into a dynamic pattern.

Yuho Kaneshige - Imbe Hisago Tokkuri

88,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W8.1cm×7.9cm×H11.4cm 180cc

Yuho Kaneshige is the third son of Sozan Kaneshige.
He inherited Inbe's house and kiln from his father.
He was presenting traditional Kaneshige style works.
But around 2018 he started a new challenge.
He demolished the kiln that he inherited from his father and made a more primitive kiln.
I believe this was the last piece he made before he destroyed his kiln.
This Tokkuri features both elegant colors of the Kaneshige style and strong colors of old Bizen.

Hiroshi Goseki - Hakudei Guinomi

11,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W10.3cm×10.1cm×H4.7cm

He is a disciple of Jun Isezaki.
He learned about Jun Isezaki's innovative design and firing methods of Anagama.
This Guinomi was fired in December 2022.
He works mainly with Bizen Pottery in Ibaraki Prefecture.
However, he is studying not only Bizen ware but also various glazed ceramics.
He used straw ashes as a glaze for this Guinomi and named it "Hakudei".
Hakudei is a word meaning white mud.
The color is a bluish white, and some of the glaze has run off, like Madara-Karatsu.

Sozan Kaneshige - Bizen Hidasuki Sakazuki

160,000 YEN
Sold out

size : W7.3cm×7.1cm×H5.2cm

This Sakazuki was made by Sozan when he was 60 to 70 years old.
This Hidasuki Sakazuki was fired in an electric kiln.
His electric kiln has ducts and can burn firewood.
And the firing time is about one week, which is a long time.
The flame of a firewood creates a beautiful surface that cannot be achieved by electricity alone.
The high level of conditioning has allowed the clay to reach an excellent quality and the surface is very smooth.

Sohei Takashima - Bizen Tokkuri

17,600 YEN

size : W8.8cm×8.6cm×H13.0cm 380cc

He is a disciple of Jun Isezaki.
He uses a small anagama at Ushimado to fire his pieces.
Large amount of natural glaze adhering to the entire piece.
The ash accumulates and flows down to form a dynamic fire pattern.
The simple design is very similar to that of his mentor, Jun Isezaki.

Masahiro Miyao - Bizen Guinomi

15,400 YEN
Sold out

size : W6.7cm×6.7cm×H5.7cm

He presents his work in two ways: traditional Bizen ware style and black style.
This Guinomi is made in black style.
It is a technique to apply mud containing a small amount of cobalt, which has been popular since 2000.
Black-style pieces have a beautiful black clay color that is roughly glossy and a bright cobalt blue fire pattern.
However, in this Guinomi, the black is almost completely transformed into indigo, which is very strange.
The black color is still present in the base, and in the areas where the clay is thin, a beautiful black color can be seen.
